Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is poised to sell four underperforming players this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is planning to part ways with several key players this summer, including Romelu Lukaku, Ian Maatsen, Hakim Ziyech, and Armando Broja, with the possibility of more departures looming.

During Todd Boehly’s first two years as owner, Chelsea has undergone significant player turnover, signing 12 players to long-term contracts last summer.

Consequently, the club had to offload numerous players, with 14 individuals bidding farewell to Stamford Bridge.

Notable names among the departures include Kai Havertz and Mason Mount, who fetched substantial transfer fees upon joining other Premier League clubs.

To comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, Chelsea must continue to make significant sales. It’s been suggested that the departure of domestic talents like Conor Gallagher may be necessary for the club’s financial sustainability.

While there is speculation surrounding Gallagher’s future and a potential contract renewal, Romano, a trusted transfer source, has indicated that four more players are set to leave Chelsea.

The club is expected to recoup around £132 million from the sales. Romano has revealed that deals are already in place for the exits of Lukaku, Ziyech, and Broja, who are currently on loan spells elsewhere.

Ziyech is believed to have played his final game for Chelsea, while Broja’s return from loan at Fulham could lead to his permanent departure.

Lukaku’s future remains uncertain, with rumors linking him to the Saudi Pro League.

Galatasaray is reportedly obligated to sign Ziyech, while Fulham may have the option to acquire Broja permanently, although this remains uncertain. Lukaku and Maatsen’s destinations are also unclear, with various rumors circulating.

Furthermore, Romano has hinted that more Chelsea players may need to be offloaded, suggesting that the club’s squad overhaul may not be complete.
