Kylian Mbappe has officially declared his departure from Paris Saint-Germain, opening up the possibility of a move to Real Madrid.

Speculation surrounding Mbappe’s future has been rife for some time, given that his contract is set to expire in the summer.

However, no official statement had been made by anyone from the French team until Mbappe addressed the issue after Paris Saint-Germain’s defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semi-final.

In a poignant farewell message, Mbappe expressed his anticipation for embarking on a new journey after seven years with Paris Saint-Germain.

Many speculate that this new adventure will take place in Madrid, with reports from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano suggesting that all agreements have been in place since February.

Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid is expected to be a landmark one, potentially becoming the most expensive free transfer in history.

While Mbappe currently earns a substantial £171 million annually at PSG, it is reported that he will take a pay cut upon joining Real Madrid. However, specific details regarding the financial arrangements are yet to be finalized.

According to Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol, Real Madrid plans to compensate Mbappe with a significant sum equivalent to what they would have paid as a transfer fee. Sources in Spain indicate that this amount could exceed £100 million.

Mbappe is set to bid farewell to the Parc des Princes and PSG fans in an emotionally charged final game on Sunday.

Reflecting on his time at the club, Mbappe expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be part of one of the biggest French clubs and among the best in the world.

He credited his tenure at PSG for enabling him to play alongside renowned players and winners, contributing to his growth as a player.

Announcing his departure was not an easy decision for Mbappe, as he admitted to finding it challenging. Nevertheless, after seven years at PSG, he believes it is time for a new challenge, signaling his readiness to embrace new opportunities and experiences.
