Ancelotti has decided to exclude Real Madrid’s top defender from the starting XI for the Champions League final against Dortmund.

Real Madrid is set to aim for their 15th UEFA Champions League title as they face Borussia Dortmund at Wembley on June 1.

This highly anticipated match sees Carlo Ancelotti’s squad bolstered by the return of two key defensive players, Eder Militao and Thibaut Courtois, both of whom are expected to be fit and available for selection.

Eder Militao and Thibaut Courtois’ return to fitness comes at a crucial time for Real Madrid, as they prepare for one of the biggest matches of the season. Reports from MARCA suggest that Ancelotti is likely to include at least one of these players in his ideal starting XI for the Champions League final.

The focus has particularly been on the goalkeeper position, with Courtois’ return raising questions about whether he will replace Andriy Lunin as the starting goalkeeper for this crucial match.

Carlo Ancelotti is expected to favor Courtois over Lunin, given the Belgian goalkeeper’s proven track record and experience in high-stakes matches. Courtois will likely be supported by a robust and well-organized defensive line, spearheaded by Antonio Rudiger.

The German international is set to be paired with Nacho Fernandez in the center of defense, especially important with Aurelien Tchouameni ruled out for the final.

In the fullback positions, Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy are expected to start. Carvajal’s experience and defensive prowess will be vital, while Mendy’s ability to support both defense and attack will be crucial on the left flank.

In the midfield, Toni Kroos is a guaranteed starter. His vast experience and leadership are invaluable assets for Real Madrid, especially in controlling the tempo of the game.

Kroos will be joined by Eduardo Camavinga, who will take on a defensive midfield role, providing stability and protection to the backline. Federico Valverde is expected to complete the midfield trio

, acting as an attacking enforcer. Valverde’s dynamic playstyle will be essential in driving the team forward and creating opportunities in the attacking third.

Valverde’s role will be particularly crucial as he looks to support and link up with Real Madrid’s attacking players, namely Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.

Both Brazilian forwards have been in excellent form and are almost certain to start against Dortmund. Their pace, skill, and ability to penetrate defenses will be key in breaking down Dortmund’s backline.

In addition to the Brazilian duo, Jude Bellingham, who joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund last summer, will be another vital component in the attacking setup.

This will be Bellingham’s first encounter against his former club since his transfer. Given his outstanding performances this season, Bellingham is expected to play a crucial role in the final. His creativity, vision, and ability to influence the game from midfield will be pivotal for Real Madrid.

The prospect of Bellingham facing his former teammates adds an intriguing subplot to the final. His familiarity with Dortmund’s style of play could provide Real Madrid with a tactical advantage.

Moreover, Bellingham’s personal motivation to perform well against his old club is likely to drive him to deliver an exceptional performance.

As Real Madrid prepares for this critical showdown, Ancelotti’s tactical decisions will be under intense scrutiny. The Italian manager’s experience and strategic acumen will be tested as he seeks to balance the team’s defensive solidity with their attacking prowess.

The expected lineup reflects a blend of seasoned veterans and young talents, each capable of making significantcontributions on the big stage.
