Eden Hazard, the celebrated footballer, took to social media to share a heartfelt announcement, revealing his decision to retire from professional football at the age of 32.
Following his release from Real Madrid in the summer after an association with the club for four seasons and making 76 appearances, Hazard remained without a club.
In a thoughtful message, the former Real Madrid and Chelsea player conveyed, “It’s important to listen to your inner self and recognize when it’s the right time to step away.” After 16 years and an extensive journey that saw him participate in over 700 games, he decided to bring his professional football career to a close.
He reflected on the fulfillment of his dream, cherishing the moments he played and relished on numerous fields across the globe.
Hazard expressed gratitude for the privilege of working with exceptional managers, coaches, and teammates throughout his career. He extended heartfelt thanks to all those who contributed to the beautiful times, expressing that he would dearly miss them.
Acknowledging the teams he had the honor to play for, including LOSC, Chelsea, and Real Madrid, as well as being a part of the Belgian national team selected by RBFA, was another highlight of his message.
