Manchester United’s new owner has recently made a decisive move regarding Mason Greenwood’s future ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

The ongoing season has been a source of disappointment for Manchester United, as they find themselves lagging behind in the race for Champions League qualification.

Presently, Erik ten Hag’s squad occupies the sixth position in the Premier League standings, trailing three points behind Tottenham Hotspur in fifth place and eight points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.

With the recent influx of investment from British billionaire and INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe, United supporters are optimistic about the club’s prospects for future success.

Ratcliffe and his team are poised to assume control of the football operations following the official confirmation of the deal last week.

Looking ahead to the upcoming summer transfer window, significant changes are expected within the squad. Reports from the Manchester Evening News suggest that United is contemplating offloading as many as ten players during the transfer window.

Several players, including Aaron Wan Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, and Facundo Pellistri, have contracts with less than a year remaining, making them potential candidates for departure.

Mason Greenwood, currently on loan at Getafe in La Liga, has garnered interest from Barcelona, with United reportedly setting an asking price for the talented forward.

Midfielder Casemiro’s future is also uncertain, with speculation linking him to a move to the Middle East following a subpar season.

Additionally, loaned-out players such as Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek, Hannibal Mejbri, and Alvaro Fernandez could face an uncertain future at Old Trafford.

Furthermore, the fate of forward Marcus Rashford remains uncertain amid a lackluster season, raising the possibility of United considering parting ways with the Englishman.

Alongside the aforementioned players, Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial, and Tom Heaton are expected to depart when their contracts expire at the end of the season.

Overall, Manchester United appears poised for a significant squad overhaul in the upcoming transfer window as they seek to rejuvenate their roster and bolster their competitiveness in domestic and European competitions.
