Arsenal’s Arteta gives final chance to ‘underrated’ player to salvage career or face summer exit.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has issued an ultimatum to an “underrated” player, believed to be Thomas Partey, giving him one final opportunity to salvage his career at the club.

Arteta’s decision comes amidst concerns over the player’s consistent injury woes, with the manager warning that failure to prove his worth in the coming months could result in his departure from Arsenal.

Partey, who joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020, was initially hailed as a potential successor to club legend Patrick Vieira.

His time at Arsenal has been marred by persistent fitness issues, limiting his appearances for the team.

Despite demonstrating his quality when fit, injuries have hindered Partey’s impact on the pitch, with the midfielder featuring only four times in the Premier League this season.

With Partey now back in training and set to return to action against Sheffield United, Arsenal’s hierarchy is reportedly willing to give him one last chance to showcase his abilities.

Should he manage to stay injury-free and deliver consistent performances until the end of the season, discussions regarding a new contract may be initiated.

Failure to stay fit could spell the end of his tenure at Arsenal, with the club unwilling to take further risks on his injury-prone status.

Partey’s importance to Arsenal’s midfield stability cannot be overstated, with his absence often leaving a noticeable void in the team’s structure.

Despite being described as “underrated” by his peers, the Ghanaian international’s potential impact on the pitch is widely recognized, especially considering his stellar performances in previous seasons.

However, at 31 years old and with a history of recurring muscle injuries, questions arise regarding the feasibility of offering Partey a new contract beyond his current deal, which expires in 2025.

While his talent is undeniable, the risks associated with his fitness and substantial salary demand caution in committing to along-term extension.
