Liverpool is reportedly eager to secure the services of Valverde, despite his recent contract extension, by offering a substantial €150 million (£129 million) for the midfielder, whom they view as a prized acquisition.
Valverde has caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s current manager, who admires the midfielder’s abilities, even though Klopp is set to depart at the end of the season.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, is expecting the arrival of Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer, which alleviates the pressure to offload players.
However, if Real Madrid were to consider Liverpool’s lucrative offer for Valverde, it could potentially impact their transfer plans.
Valverde’s journey at Real Madrid began in 2016 when he made the switch from Penarol.
Since then, he has swiftly risen through the ranks to become a key player for the club, amassing 246 appearances, scoring 19 goals, and providing 23 assists.
His significance to Carlo Ancelotti’s team has been evident throughout the current season, as he has been a regular feature in the lineup. In the 2023-24 campaign,
Valverde has already made 42 appearances, contributing one goal and eight assists. Furthermore, he committed to the club by signing a contract extension until June 2029 last November.
