Frank Lampard is poised to make a remarkable comeback to football with an unexpected team.

Former Chelsea midfielder and manager Frank Lampard is reportedly being considered for the position of manager of the Canadian national team. Lampard has been without a job since departing from Chelsea last summer.

He took over as interim manager in 2023 after Graham Potter’s dismissal but failed to make a significant impact. During his tenure, Chelsea’s performance declined, winning just one out of the 11 games he led.

Despite his recent unsuccessful stints at Everton and Chelsea, The Sun reports that Lampard, 45, is interested in returning to management and could be given the opportunity by the Canadian FA.

He is among the candidates being considered to replace John Herdman, who left last summer. However, it is uncertain whether Lampard would be open to moving abroad.

He may prefer to wait until the end of the season to see if any opportunities arise in top-flight football.

In a recent interview, Lampard expressed his enjoyment of spending time with his family during his break from football.

Although he expressed a desire to return to management, he stressed the importance of finding the right opportunity.

Lampard highlighted his enjoyment of working with players and improving teams but emphasized the intensity of the job.

He stated his readiness to return to work when the right opportunity arises, but for now, he is relishing the time spent with his family.
