Mikel Arteta reacts angrily to a World-Class Player’s decision to join Madrid as Arsenal increases bid to convince him.

Arsenal secured a dominant win over West Ham, and manager Mikel Arteta was full of praise for his team, especially Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, whose dynamic partnership has been instrumental in Arsenal’s recent scoring spree of 13 goals in three games.

However, Arteta also made a point to commend Jorginho, describing the midfielder’s performance as “exceptional” and “outstanding.”

Jorginho’s display against West Ham was a masterclass in defensive midfield play. He led Arsenal in interceptions and tackles while only being outpassed by Declan Rice and William Saliba. Positioned at the base of midfield, Jorginho brought stability and control to a match that, particularly in the first half, was chaotic at times.

This standout performance was even more remarkable considering it was only his second full 90-minute Premier League appearance this season, his previous one being a solid showing in Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Tottenham in September.

Despite starting just six games this season, including two in the Carabao Cup, Jorginho consistently proves his worth whenever called upon. His ability to slot seamlessly into the team highlights his experience and tactical intelligence.

Beyond his on-pitch contributions, Jorginho’s leadership qualities shine through. He often acts as a coach from the sidelines, barking orders and guiding teammates during warm-ups, a role Arteta encourages.

Arteta has frequently praised Jorginho’s intelligence, calling him one of the smartest players he has coached. The Arsenal boss admires the midfielder’s ability to read and influence live gameplay, correcting issues on the fly and commanding the attention of his teammates to implement necessary adjustments.

This blend of tactical awareness and leadership underscores Jorginho’s value to Arsenal. As his contract nears its end this season, his importance to the squad becomes even more evident.

While competition is fierce in his position, with Rice and Thomas Partey also vying for the defensive midfield role, Jorginho’s unique ability to manage and control games sets him apart. His knack for quickly adapting, even with limited playing time, adds further weight to his case for more minutes.

Although Arsenal extended Jorginho’s contract earlier this year, questions linger about his future. At 32, he might seek a club where he can play more regularly.

Yet, Arteta’s admiration for Jorginho remains unwavering, labeling him a role model and a leader whose playing style enhances those around him. For now, Jorginho continues to prove he is an indispensable asset to Arsenal’s ambitions.
