A former chief executive of Professional Game Match Officials Limited has suggested that Arne Slot could potentially come under scrutiny from The Football Association following remarks he made after Liverpool’s recent defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The match itself was filled with controversy, particularly surrounding the second goal scored by Benjamin Sesko in the 14th minute. Replays appeared to show that the ball made contact with the striker’s hand before crossing the goal line.
Despite this, the goal was allowed to stand after a review by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), a decision that sparked widespread debate among fans, pundits, and analysts.
After the game, Slot did not hide his frustration when addressing the media. He argued that the goal should have been ruled out under the handball law and went further to suggest that Liverpool have consistently been on the wrong end of VAR decisions throughout the season.
