Manchester United are reportedly continuing to monitor Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini as Michael Carrick considers further improvements to his defensive options.
The Italian centre-back has emerged as a potential target for the Red Devils, with United’s recruitment department said to have followed his progress for some time as they search for talented players capable of strengthening the squad for the future.
Scalvini has developed an impressive reputation in Italian football despite still being relatively young. At just 22, the defender is already regarded as one of Serie A’s promising defensive talents and has gained valuable experience at both club and international level.
One of the qualities that makes Scalvini particularly attractive is his ability to combine physical strength with technical ability.
