Manchester United have reportedly been placed on alert after fresh claims emerged suggesting that Bayern Munich have identified Benjamin Šeško as a potential long-term successor to Harry Kane.
The sensational reports claim that the German giants could be preparing an offer worth around €95 million (£81 million) for the young Manchester United striker.
Such a proposal would immediately create major headlines, particularly given the significant investment United made to bring Šeško to Old Trafford.
However, it is important to separate the confirmed situation from the speculation. There is currently no independently verified evidence that Bayern Munich have submitted a €95 million bid, while comments reportedly attributed to Vincent Kompany regarding the striker have also not been reliably confirmed.
What does appear clear is that Bayern are believed to admire Šeško and could potentially view him as part of their long-term attacking plans.
The Slovenian forward arrived at Manchester United from RB Leipzig in a deal reportedly worth approximately €85 million including bonuses.
His early months in England were not particularly straightforward, as he needed time to adapt to the demands of the Premier League and life at one of the biggest clubs in world football.
However, his fortunes reportedly changed significantly after Michael Carrick took charge.
Under Carrick, Šeško began showing the qualities that convinced Manchester United to invest heavily in him.
His improvement in front of goal became particularly noticeable, with the striker reportedly scoring seven goals in 14 league appearances during Carrick’s spell.
Those performances have strengthened his position within United’s plans and demonstrated why the club sees him as an important part of its future.
