Manchester United could reportedly face a huge attacking decision with Ollie Watkins available for around £40M, while Endrick could cost approximately £35–45M

Manchester United could soon find themselves facing a fascinating decision in the transfer market if both Ollie Watkins and Real Madrid youngster Endrick become genuine options for the club.

The two forwards offer completely different profiles, meaning Michael Carrick and the Manchester United hierarchy would have to carefully consider whether they want immediate Premier League experience or a younger player with enormous long-term potential.

Reports suggest that Watkins could be available for a fee in the region of £40 million, while Endrick may also command a transfer fee somewhere between £35 million and £45 million.

With the estimated prices relatively similar, the decision would likely come down to what type of striker United believe would best suit their plans.

Watkins has already demonstrated that he can perform consistently in the Premier League. The Aston Villa forward reportedly enjoyed another productive campaign, scoring 16 league goals and providing three assists in 37 appearances.

His experience at the highest level of English football would make him an appealing option for a Manchester United side looking for a forward capable of contributing immediately.

The English striker possesses intelligent movement, physical strength and a proven ability to find the back of the net.

He understands the demands of Premier League football and would not need a long adaptation period if he moved to Old Trafford.

For Carrick, that experience could be particularly valuable as United prepare for a demanding season involving both domestic competition and European football.

Endrick, however, represents a completely different proposition.

The Brazilian youngster is only 20 years old and is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young attacking talents in world football.

His loan spell at Lyon reportedly gave him valuable first-team experience, with the forward recording five goals and seven assists in 16 Ligue 1 appearances.

Across all competitions during his temporary spell, he is also reported to have finished with approximately eight goals and eight assists in 21 matches.

Those numbers highlight Endrick’s ability not only to score but also to create opportunities for teammates.

His age is one of the biggest advantages he would have over Watkins. At 20, Endrick has significant room to develop and could potentially remain an important part of United’s squad for many years.

His pace, technical ability, movement and natural attacking instincts could make him an exciting long-term investment.

Watkins, at 30, would offer something different. Rather than being viewed primarily as a player for the future, he would arrive with years of Premier League experience and the expectation of making an immediate impact.

There is also a financial difference when it comes to wages. Watkins is reportedly earning around £130,000 per week at Aston Villa, while Endrick’s estimated salary at Real Madrid is believed to be between £60,000 and £70,000 per week.

If those figures are accurate, Endrick could potentially represent a more manageable long-term wage commitment.

United would therefore have to consider several factors beyond the transfer fee.

Watkins offers proven Premier League quality, experience and immediate goals. Endrick provides youth, development potential and the possibility of becoming a major star in the future.

For Carrick, the ideal choice may ultimately depend on whether United want a striker who can solve their attacking problems immediately or someone they can develop into a long-term cornerstone of the team.

With both players reportedly available within a similar transfer-price range, the debate among Manchester United supporters is likely to become even more intense.

The question is simple: should United prioritise Watkins’ proven Premier League experience, or take a chance on Endrick’s exciting potential?
