AMAD DIALLO DELIVERS HUGE INJURY BOOST AS MANCHESTER UNITED COMEBACK COULD COME MUCH SOONER

    ABBy ABAugust 27, 2026No Comments3 Mins Read

Manchester United supporters have finally been given something positive to smile about after encouraging developments surrounding Amad Diallo’s injury suggested that the winger could return much sooner than initially feared.

Amad was a surprise absentee from Michael Carrick’s squad for United’s Premier League opening fixture against Hull City after reportedly picking up a minor problem during training.

Before kick-off, Carrick explained that the Ivorian had suffered what he described as a small “niggle”, with the club’s medical team expected to carry out further assessments to determine exactly how serious the issue was.

The news initially caused considerable concern among United fans, particularly because some early reports suggested that Amad could potentially spend as long as six weeks on the sidelines.

Such an absence would have represented a major setback for Carrick, especially with United already facing questions over their attacking options.

The timing of the injury could hardly have been worse. United subsequently suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat against newly promoted Hull City, producing a performance in which they struggled to create enough danger in the final third.

The absence of Amad was therefore felt even more strongly as the team lacked the pace, creativity and unpredictability required to unlock Hull’s organised defence.

However, the mood has now changed considerably.

Fresh reports indicate that Amad’s problem may not be as serious as originally feared. There is even growing speculation that the 24-year-old could potentially recover in time to be considered for United’s upcoming Premier League fixture against Ipswich Town at Old Trafford.

One of the biggest reasons for the renewed optimism is the sight of Amad back on the training pitch at Carrington.

Manchester United have reportedly released footage showing the winger back on the grass and working following his absence from the opening league match.

That development will undoubtedly come as welcome news to supporters who feared that they could be without one of their most dangerous attacking players for a significant period.

Amad’s return could be particularly important for Carrick. United’s defeat to Hull highlighted a serious lack of attacking sharpness, with possession failing to translate into enough clear opportunities. Amad offers a completely different profile.

His speed, close control, direct running and willingness to take defenders on can create problems that more predictable attacking players may struggle to produce.

The winger had also enjoyed a promising pre-season campaign and appeared capable of becoming an important part of Carrick’s plans.

Missing the first competitive match was therefore frustrating for both the player and the coaching staff.

Now, with United preparing to play their first Premier League game of the season at Old Trafford, the possibility of Amad returning provides supporters with renewed confidence that the team can respond immediately to the Hull disappointment.

There is still some uncertainty surrounding the exact timeline of his recovery, and United will need to avoid rushing him back before he is completely ready. Different reports continue to circulate regarding the severity of the injury.

Nevertheless, seeing Amad back working at Carrington is undoubtedly encouraging.

After the nightmare at Hull, Manchester United need a reaction. Carrick needs his attacking players to step up, the supporters want a response, and Amad could potentially provide the spark that was badly missing.
