Real Madrid’s young star Arda Güler has agreed to personal terms with Manchester City and is poised to join the club this January as a replacement for the injured Rodri.

Arda Güler’s future could see him moving to the Premier League as Manchester City and Arsenal are reportedly among three clubs interested in securing the talented Real Madrid playmaker.

According to reports, Manchester City’s potential pursuit of Güler is closely tied to the uncertain future of Kevin De Bruyne, whose current contract with the club is set to expire at the end of the season.

At 33, De Bruyne remains a key creative force for City, but speculation about his next career move is intensifying. Swiss journalist Sacha Tavolieri recently revealed that while initial talks about a contract extension have begun,

De Bruyne is “unlikely to renew his contract.” This has prompted discussions about his future, with rumors suggesting he might forgo a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia in favor of a transition to Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States.

De Bruyne’s family reportedly favors a move to MLS, and the most concrete offer so far comes from San Diego FC.

The Californian club, set to debut in MLS in 2025, is keen on acquiring the Belgian star as a marquee signing to enhance their profile. For Manchester City, De Bruyne’s potential departure underscores the need to identify a suitable replacement to maintain their dominance.

In this context, Real Madrid’s Arda Güler has emerged as a prime candidate. The Turkish midfielder is highly regarded but has struggled to secure a starting role under Carlo Ancelotti at Madrid, making him an attractive option for other European giants.

According to Fichajes, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Bayer Leverkusen are all monitoring Güler’s situation closely. Arsenal views the 18-year-old as a promising addition to their young and dynamic squad, while Bayer Leverkusen considers him a potential replacement for Florian Wirtz, who might leave next summer.

City’s interest in Güler, however, hinges on De Bruyne’s decision. If the Belgian midfielder chooses to stay, the club is unlikely to pursue Güler.

However, should De Bruyne leave as anticipated, City might actively challenge Madrid to sign the Turkish international.

Güler’s talent and potential to grow into a creative midfield role make him a strong candidate for any of these clubs, but his future remains uncertain as Real Madrid faces the challenge of holding on to the player amid limited opportunities in their first team.
