According to a recent report from Fichajes, Chelsea have expressed serious interest in signing Real Madrid’s Brazilian forward Rodrygo Goes, who is currently valued at around £70 million.
However, it appears the Blues may not be the only Premier League side chasing his signature, as Tottenham Hotspur are also reportedly in the race to secure the talented attacker.
The update comes via transfer expert Dean Jones of TEAMtalk, who revealed that Tottenham are planning to make a major statement in the upcoming transfer window.
According to Jones, Spurs are targeting a marquee signing who can elevate the club’s attacking options and set the tone for their long-term ambitions heading into 2026 and beyond.
While Rodrygo is one of the names on Tottenham’s list, Jones cautioned that it won’t be an easy transfer to pull off.

However, he also noted that many of their ideal targets may not be available in the January window, suggesting that Spurs might have to wait until the summer to make a significant move.
He went on to say that Tottenham are preparing to spend big and could pursue some of the most ambitious signings in their history, especially with potential new investment coming into the club. However, Jones also warned that such financial backing could lead to inflated asking prices, as selling clubs may demand a premium for their top talent.
If players like Rodrygo at Real Madrid or Kenan Yildiz at Juventus become attainable in the coming months, Spurs are expected to put themselves firmly in contention.
Chelsea’s interest in Rodrygo adds another layer of intrigue to the transfer battle.
