Andy Robertson finally breaks silence on his Liverpool future after months of speculation

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has opened up about his contract situation at Anfield, providing an honest and composed response as he enters the final year of his current deal with the club.

The Scottish international, who has been one of Liverpool’s most consistent and passionate players over the years, has admitted that while there has been speculation about his future, he is trying to remain calm and focused on his football.

Speaking to the media, Robertson revealed that any decisions about his next step will be handled privately between him and the club. “Whatever happens will happen behind closed doors and I’m relaxed about the whole situation,” he said.

The left-back added that he understands the uncertainty that comes with being in the final year of a contract, but he is choosing not to let it distract him. “If it is my last year, then it’s my last year. If it’s not, then so be it,” he continued, showing a sense of acceptance and professionalism about whatever outcome awaits him.

Robertson also opened up about the emotional and mental challenges he faced over the summer, admitting that it was a stressful period filled with important decisions.

He said that he has decided to approach the coming months with a clearer mindset, focusing on enjoying football again rather than worrying about what the future holds. “I’ve said to myself to just try and enjoy the next few months and then obviously it will start probably taking over my life,” he admitted, acknowledging that as the season progresses and the contract deadline approaches, discussions will become more intense.

The Scotland captain further emphasized that his main priority right now is playing football and contributing to Liverpool’s season.

Having recently returned from injury, he expressed his happiness about being back on the pitch and helping his teammates. “Delighted to be back on the pitch, delighted to be back playing the last few games. That’s important,” Robertson said, highlighting how much he values being part of the squad again after time on the sidelines.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his contract, Robertson made it clear that he holds deep respect and gratitude for Liverpool as a club.

He described the club as “amazing” to him and expressed appreciation for everything he has achieved since joining in 2017. His words reflect both maturity and loyalty, as he refuses to let speculation overshadow his commitment to the team.

In essence, Robertson’s comments reveal a player who is at peace with whatever the future brings.

While fans may worry about the possibility of him leaving, the defender is choosing to stay focused, professional, and positive—putting the game first and trusting that the right decision will be made at the right time.
