Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola made a strong attempt to convince England international midfielder Jude Bellingham to join the club during the summer transfer window.
However, Bellingham, who has been performing impressively for Real Madrid this season with eight goals and two assists in La Liga, stood firm in his decision to move to Madrid, rejecting Guardiola’s advances.
The Manchester City manager engaged in a nearly three-hour telephone conversation with Bellingham, sharing his vision for the young talent. Despite Guardiola’s efforts, Bellingham chose to stick to his initial decision of joining Real Madrid from Dortmund.
Guardiola had praised Bellingham as a “fantastic player” during the player’s teenage years. Although Bellingham’s presence would have undoubtedly strengthened Manchester City’s midfield, he remains with Real Madrid for now, leaving the door open for potential developments in the future.
