The former manager of Manchester City, Brian Horton, has been told that he has prostate cancer.

Brian Horton, a famous former player for Brighton and Hove Albion (a team he subsequently managed) and Manchester City (during the 1990s), has disclosed that he is battling prostate cancer. Horton also managed Manchester City during those years.

After going in for a checkup in April, Horton, who was 74 at the time, received the news of his diagnosis one month later.

According to the story, a buddy suggested to him that he get checked for prostate cancer because of his age, which was obviously sensible advice.

Horton told Johnny Cantor of BBC Radio Susse that, “They discovered I had it, and it was very small,” explaining the situation.

During his career, he played for a number of different clubs, including Hednesford Town, Port Vale, Brighton, Luton Town, and Hull City.

Raddy Antic scored the winning goal four minutes from time on the final day of the 1982–1983 season at Manchester City, which sparked memorable scenes of celebration that included manager David Pleat bouncing across the Maine Road turf and heading straight for his captain, Horton.

This occurred while he was playing for Luton, and it was during his time there that the Hatters were able to keep their Premier League status.

Between the years 1993 and 1995, he managed multiple teams in the English Football League, including Manchester City, Hull, Brighton, Oxford United, Huddersfield Town, Port Vale, and Macclesfield Town.
