According to a report from The Sun, 24-year-old Dean Watson sustained severe injuries when he was hit by a Mitsubishi pickup. The incident occurred while he was walking along a rural road in the vicinity of Ecclefechan.
Watson, a midfielder who plays for the Dalbeattie Star in the South of Scotland, was initially taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary due to head injuries. Subsequently, he was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
It has been reported that the player, who represents the South of Scotland side Dalbeattie Star, suffered head injuries in the accident.
As per the report, his current medical condition is described as critical but stable. The police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
The player’s club expressed a heartfelt message on their official social media account, saying, “Everyone at Dalbeattie Star would like to extend our best wishes to our current player, Dean Watson, who was involved in a serious traffic incident near Ecclefechan in the early hours of this morning.
