Xavi, the Barcelona manager, has expressed the club’s desire to acquire a highly valued talent from Manchester City, who has been experiencing a lack of playing opportunities.

Barcelona’s remarkable start to the season continued with a 2-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League, featuring goals from Fermin Lopez and Ferran Torres.

Julian Alvarez, a forward at Manchester City, is reportedly valued at £80 million in the upcoming season.

The Argentine made a name for himself during Argentina’s World Cup win in Qatar in 2022 and has since attracted attention from clubs across Europe. Barcelona is eyeing Alvarez as a potential successor to Robert Lewandowski, with the Polish striker nearing the end of his career.

The 23-year-old has already scored seven goals and provided five assists in 15 appearances across all competitions this season. However, Real Madrid is also in pursuit of the Argentine, making his transfer potentially costly.

Barcelona is also targeting Presnel Kimpembe, a midfielder from Paris Saint-Germain. Kimpembe’s contract with PSG expires in less than a year, and he is currently sidelined due to injury.

If PSG fails to extend his contract, Kimpembe could become available as a free agent next summer, and Barcelona intends to sign him on a Bosman transfer.

Contrary to rumors, renowned transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano denied that Chelsea is in talks to sign Gavi, a Spanish midfielder who has been instrumental for Barcelona.

While financial difficulties may force Barcelona to consider selling key players, Romano clarified that there is no immediate pressure to do so. Gavi and Pedri are considered crucial to Barcelona’s plans, and Romano dismissed the idea of Gavi moving to Chelsea for around €100 million.

In 12 appearances across all competitions this season, the 19-year-old midfielder has contributed two goals and one assist for Barcelona.

This summarizes the key transfer rumors surrounding Barcelona as of October 26, 2023.
