Arsenal’s defensive sensation expresses astonishment regarding a Sheffield player who appears to make Mikel Arteta apprehensive.

In a surprising turn of events, an Arsenal defender has revealed that he received a late-night call from a Sheffield player, who wanted to discuss how he should mark him on the field, citing the player’s tricky nature. This unexpected interaction sheds light on the intrigue surrounding this Sheffield player, which even Arsenal’s manager, Arteta, appears to be wary of.

Gabriel Jesus, who delivered an outstanding performance in Arsenal’s victory over Sevilla in the Champions League, has reignited a long-standing debate in Brazil.

Following the match, questions arose about his worthiness to be a regular starter for the national team, considering his impressive start to the season with Arsenal. However, this inquiry sparked a wave of negative comments on social media.

Speaking on TNT Sports, correspondent Fred Caldeira expressed his perspective on Jesus’ recent form and emphasized the need for greater respect toward the Arsenal star.

He noted that Gabriel Jesus, as a prominent figure, often divides opinions, and there seems to be an unjustified level of animosity directed towards him, especially among those who follow European football closely.

Caldeira pointed out some remarkable statistics to support his argument. Gabriel Jesus has scored more goals in the Champions League than the legendary Adriano Imperador.

He stands as the second Brazilian with the most goals in the history of the Premier League, surpassed only by Roberto Firmino. Caldeira contended that in most of the top European football clubs, Gabriel Jesus would be a starting player. He mentioned prominent clubs like Manchester City, Barcelona, and Liverpool as examples where Jesus could easily secure a starting role.

He argued that the number of European teams where Gabriel Jesus wouldn’t be a starter or wouldn’t at least contend for a starting position is quite limited.

The Brazilian public’s lack of support for Gabriel Jesus primarily traces back to his performance in the 2018 World Cup, where he failed to score a single goal throughout the tournament.

A similar goalless streak occurred in the 2022 World Cup, although it’s worth noting that he had less playing time in that competition and also faced an injury setback in the third game.

While representing Arsenal in the current season, Gabriel Jesus has made a noteworthy impact, tallying four goals and providing one assist in 11 appearances. However, a recent announcement by Mikel Arteta indicates that the player is set to be sidelined for several weeks, potentially delaying his opportunity to showcase his abilities with the national team.
