Manchester City goalkeeper and Brazilian international Ederson is on the verge of becoming the most despised player following his surprising decision to transfer to a club in Saudi Arabia.

Ederson, the goalkeeper for Manchester City, has reportedly agreed to personal terms with one of Saudi Arabia’s top teams after being offered an impressive two-year contract.

The 30-year-old Brazilian international, who joined Manchester City from Benfica in 2017 for approximately £35 million, has made close to 300 appearances for the Premier League champions.

During his time with City, he has secured six league titles, two FA Cups, and the Champions League under the management of Pep Guardiola. Ederson recently lauded Guardiola as the best coach in football.

“Pep is equivalent to a GPS,” Ederson elaborated. “You enter the address, and it shows you the possibilities, including the best one for us. Then you simply follow, follow, follow.

“Pep is the finest ever, and I believe he lives football 24 hours a day. It’s incredible.”

After seven successful seasons in Manchester, it seems that Ederson might be leaving England this summer. According to journalist Gianluigi Longari, Ederson has reached an agreement on personal terms with Al Nassr, a club in the Saudi Pro League, and discussions with Manchester City are set to begin.

Al Nassr is currently in search of a new goalkeeper following the departure of their first-choice keeper, David Ospina, who left at the end of his contract. The club is reportedly willing to invest significantly to secure Ederson’s services.

Cesar Luis Merlo reports that Al Nassr has offered Ederson a deal worth €60 million [£51 million] over two years, which translates to about £490,000 per week.

Last summer, Al Nassr made several high-profile signings, including Otavio, Sadio Mane, Aymeric Laporte, Seko Fofana, Marcelo Brozovic, and Alex Telles. However, there are indications that Mane might leave the club this summer. The Daily Mail reports that Al Nassr is open to offers for the former Liverpool and Bayern Munich forward.

In response, Al Nassr is considering a move for Aston Villa’s Moussa Diaby as a potential replacement for Mane. Diaby was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia before he joined the Premier League for a substantial fee of £51.9 million.
